MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) Punjab Food Authority (PFA) tightened noose around the adulteration mafia and

sealed a milk collection centre in Burewala and registered a case against the owner

after laboratory tests confirmed the presence of harmful substances in milk.

The action was carried out under the zero-tolerance policy of Director General Punjab

Food Authority Syed Musa Raza during an ongoing campaign against food adulteration.

According to a PFA spokesperson, a Food Safety team raided a milk collection centre

located in Pind Jateera, Burewala. The milk samples collected during monitoring were

tested through a state-of-the-art mobile laboratory, which revealed deficiencies in

natural nutrition and fat content.

Laboratory findings further confirmed that water and hazardous chemicals were mixed

into the milk to artificially increase its volume and thickness, posing serious health risks

to consumers.

Food Authority immediately sealed the milk collection centre and lodged an FIR against

the owner at the police station concerned under relevant food safety laws.

Speaking on the occasion, DG PFA Syed Musa Raza said adulteration in essential

food items, particularly milk, was an unforgivable crime against public health.

“Those involved in adulterating milk were playing with human lives, especially the health

of children. No leniency will be shown to such elements,” he said, adding that the Punjab

Food Authority’s zero-tolerance policy against adulteration would continue across the province.

He further stated that strict monitoring of the milk supply chain was being ensured to provide

citizens with pure and safe food products.

He urged the citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspected food adulteration activities

to the Punjab Food Authority’s helpline 1223.
