Entry of vehicles loaded with animals on motorways banned

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) A complete ban has been imposed on the entry of vehicles loaded with animals on motorways.

According to the Central Region spokesperson, the decision has been taken to maintain public

safety and traffic flow during Eidul Adha, while overloaded and unfit vehicles could cause serious

accidents.

The spokesperson said that vehicles loaded with animals would be diverted to alternative

and safer routes, as in the past, several dangerous accidents had occurred on motorways

due to such vehicles.

On the other hand, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police had been directed to set up check

posts at entry points. The Central Region spokesperson said that action had also been ordered

against illegal parking near cattle markets and interchanges.

In addition, strict legal action would be taken against violations of traffic laws and loading standards.

The aim of ban was to prevent accidents and maintain traffic flow on motorways.
