Doctors, engineers valuable assets of nation: Sindh Governor

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said that doctors and engineers were valuable assets of any nation.

Senior professionals should guide the younger generation through their experience, knowledge and expertise so that future doctors and engineers can play an effective role in the development of the country, he said while addressing the Lifetime Achievement Awards Distribution Ceremony organized by the Medical and Engineering Graduates Welfare Association of Sindh ( MEGWAS) as the chief guest here Sunday.

The Governor Sindh said that Pakistani doctors and engineers were proving their capabilities across the world and bringing pride to the country at the international level. He emphasized that providing guidance and mentorship to young professionals by experienced and capable teachers was need of the hour so they can successfully face future challenges.

Nehal Hashmi stated that the fields of medical sciences and engineering were two fundamental sectors that guaranteed the progress, survival and prosperity of any society. He added that while doctors were tirelessly striving to save human lives and build a healthy society, engineers were laying the foundations of material development, infrastructure and innovation through their knowledge and skills.

He said that seeing graduates of both sectors united on a welfare platform in Sindh was encouraging and commendable. He appreciated the efforts of the Association for working not only for the welfare of its members but also for serving people in the remote areas of Sindh.

The Governor Sindh assured that the government would continue to support such welfare and educational initiatives. He congratulated all award recipients from the core of his heart and said that their remarkable services are a guiding light for the younger generation.

On this occasion, Dr. Shafqat Abbasi and Engineer Momin also addressed the ceremony.

At the end, Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to distinguished doctors and engineers of the country, including Engineer Professor Dr. Faizullah Abbasi, Engineer Professor Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Dr. Captain (R) Rahim Bakhsh Bhatti, Amjad Siraj Memon, Dr. Naushad Sheikh, Dr. Abdul Bari, Dr. Saeed Qureshi, Dr. Nadeem Qamar, Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi, Engineer Professor Shaneela Zardari and others.
