Funds of Rs 60.8 million approved for zakat ration cards scheme

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Friday approved funds of Rs 60.8 million for the distribution of zakat ration cards among 515,000 families in the district.

The DC informed APP that under the scheme, Rs 12,000 would be given to

each family.

He said that zakat ration card scheme was as like of Guzara allowance,

adding that the aim of providing zakat cards was to help the poor in mitigating

their suffering.

He said the zakat amount would be given via bank branches after biometric process.

The DC said that transparency in amount disbursement should be ensured.
