World Bank mission reviews SRMP progress, visits project sites

A World Bank mission, facilitated by the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) on Wednesday visited project sites in Talhar, Matli, Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan districts to assess implementation and community impact under the Supported Sindh Rural Management Programme (SRMP)

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) A World Bank mission, facilitated by the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) on Wednesday visited project sites in Talhar, Matli, Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan districts to assess implementation and community impact under the Supported Sindh Rural Management Programme (SRMP).

The mission aimed to review on ground progress, interact with beneficiaries, and evaluate key activities under SRMP, which is being implemented by SRSO in Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan and Badin districts, said an official if SRSO head office Sukkur.

The World Bank delegation included Senior Social Development Specialist Imran ul Haque, Social Development Specialist Faiz Aijaz, Social Development Consultant Hafeez Bozdar and Muhammad Basit. They were accompanied by SIDA General Manager Asghar Mahesar and SRSO officials including the Hyderabad region’s CED manager, district manager Badin and assistant manager Regional Office Hyderabad.

During the visit, the mission held meetings with community members and inspected newly constructed and upgraded houses across several villages. Members also interacted with vocational training participants to assess how acquired skills had improved incomes, and met beneficiaries of solar panel installations.

The delegation visited a garment centre in Matli to review skill development activities and market linkage mechanisms.

According to SRSO, the field visit confirmed that all activities had been implemented as planned. The World Bank mission acknowledged SRSO’s facilitation and noted positive feedback from communities on the programme’s impact.
