World Bank delegation visits health facilities in Sanghar under 1,000 Days Project

A high-level delegation of the World Bank visited various health facilities in Sanghar district in connection with the ongoing 1,000 Days Project being implemented with the bank’s support

SANGHAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) A high-level delegation of the World Bank visited various health facilities in Sanghar district in connection with the ongoing 1,000 Days Project being implemented with the bank’s support.

The delegation comprised Batool Shaukat, Social Safeguard and Gender Specialist and In-Charge of the 1,000 Days Project, senior social gender specialist Sana Siddiq Rahimoon, and members Ghulam Haider Usmani and Rabail Usmani.

During the visit, the team inspected the Rural Health Centre (RHC) Kandiari and Taluka Hospital Sinjhoro, and held a meeting with District Health Officer Dr Mohammad Farooq to review the overall condition and service delivery at public health facilities across the district.

Under the World Bank-funded 1,000 Days Project, new buildings will be constructed for RHC Sarhari, RHC Kandiari, Taluka Hospital Sinjhoro and Taluka Hospital Khipro.

In addition, Taluka Hospital Tando Adam and RHC Shahpur Chakar will undergo renovation. Ten basic health units (BHUs) and dispensaries are also slated for construction of new buildings.

Dr Farooq informed the information department that some of the existing health facilities would soon be vacated and temporarily shifted to alternate locations to facilitate timely completion of construction work. The district administration has assured full cooperation to ensure the projects are completed at the earliest.

Addressing a community engagement session, Ms Shaukat and Ms Rahimoon said modern construction techniques would be employed to ensure the facilities are completed swiftly and in line with quality standards. Civil Surgeon Dr Aftab Azam Sariwal was also present on the occasion.
