Wall collapse incident leaves minor girl dead, worker injured

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) A six-year-old girl lost her life while a labourer sustained injuries after an old mud-brick wall collapsed and fell on them during repair work near Hassan Morr, close to Ghagra Soaling, Multan-Muzaffargarh road, on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 spokesman said their teams accompanying an ambulance rushed to the spot immediately from the nearest rescue station and started relief operations.

Initial reports revealed that an old and dilapidated mud-brick wall suddenly caved in while repair work was underway, leaving 25-year-old labourer Muhammad Shan and six-year-old Sadia trapped under the debris.

Carrying out a swift operation, rescuers pulled both from the rubble. Upon medical examination, Sadia was found to have suffered a severe head injury and had died at the scene. Muhammad Shan sustained serious abdominal injuries and was provided first aid before being shifted to Nishtar Hospital-II for further treatment.

Rescue officials urged the public to adopt proper safety measures during the repair of old and weakened structures and to keep children away from construction and maintenance sites to prevent such tragic incidents.
