Veteran artist Abdul Mateen honoured with "Lifetime Achievement Award" in Chichawatni

Chichawatni, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) The Punjab Arts Council, Sahiwal Division, organized a prestigious ceremony in Chichawatni to recognize the lifelong artistic contributions of renowned painter, calligrapher, and illustrator Abdul Mateen, who was presented with the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award.”

The event was attended by a large number of distinguished writers, intellectuals, artists, and cultural figures from Sahiwal and surrounding areas. Commandant of the Punjab Prison Training College Sahiwal, Malik Shaukat Feroz Awan, attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while Director Punjab Arts Council Dr. Riaz Hamdani hosted the event.

Addressing the gathering, Malik Shaukat Feroz Awan paid tribute to Abdul Mateen’s remarkable services to art and culture, describing him as a valuable national asset whose creative work reflects the richness of Pakistan’s cultural heritage.

He said that Abdul Mateen’s paintings and calligraphic works serve as an important representation of the country’s cultural identity. The speakers highlighted Abdul Mateen’s decades-long dedication to the promotion of fine arts and acknowledged his significant role in preserving and projecting the region’s cultural and artistic traditions.
