LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Punjab on Sunday arrested two suspects
in separate operations in Lahore and Faisalabad for allegedly harassing, blackmailing and
exploiting women through social media platforms and digital content.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the operations were conducted on the direction
of Director NCCIA Punjab Muhammad Ali Waseem against individuals involved in online
sexual harassment, financial extortion and circulation of objectionable material.
In Lahore, the NCCIA arrested suspect Haziq Mahmood from Sabzazar Scheme following
a complaint lodged by a woman resident of Gulshan-e-Ravi. The operation was conducted
by SHO Najam Bajwa.
The spokesperson said a case had been registered against the suspect under Sections 20 and 24 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016. The complainant alleged that the accused had been blackmailing her and her family by threatening to upload personal and objectionable material
on social media platforms.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>During the raid, officials recovered two mobile phones, screen shots of alleged Instagram
and WhatsApp conversations, and photographs of the complainant from the suspect’s possession.
In another operation, the NCCIA Faisalabad arrested suspect Zeeshan Nawaz near Narwala Chowk.
The raid was conducted by SHO Amir Sultan.
According to investigators, the suspect allegedly obtained the complainant’s TikTok account on the pretext
of helping her earn online income and later gained access to her personal information. Officials said the
accused allegedly attempted to sexually harass and blackmail the victim while demanding Rs200,000
in extortion money.
Authorities further alleged that the suspect created a fake TikTok account under the name “Mahi Khan”
and uploaded objectionable content related to the complainant.
NCCIA officials said indiscriminate action against elements involved in online harassment and blackmail
of women would continue, adding that further investigations into both cases were underway.
