LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry former president Iftikhar Ali Malik on Tuesday said trusted brands enabled businesses to retain customers without offering discounts, as buyers preferred quality and reliability over lower prices.

Talking to a delegation of Pakistan Marketing Associates and Professionals led by Ch Ejaz Ahmad Arain, he said trust had become the most valuable asset in today’s highly competitive global market.

He said building a reputation through honesty, professionalism, and commitment to customer satisfaction required years of consistent effort. Once consumers developed confidence in a brand, they willingly paid the demanded price because they were assured of quality and value, he added.

Iftikhar Malik said trust-based branding not only increased sales but also strengthened the national economy by boosting exports and attracting investment.

He urged Pakistani entrepreneurs and industrialists to focus on long-term credibility instead of short-term profits and advised them to invest in product quality, innovation, ethical business practices and customer service to compete effectively in international markets.

Referring to successful Pakistani brands, he said companies such as Interloop, Service Industries Limited, Guard Group and ChenOne had demonstrated that customer loyalty was achieved through maintaining standards and fulfilling commitments rather than aggressive marketing alone.

He added that trusted brands created emotional confidence among consumers and remained the preferred choice even during difficult economic conditions.
