markets during Ramazan, urging the authorities to immediately enhance

security measures.

Tal Road (Adafi High school Chowk to Dera Chowk), President Khalid Mehmood Qureshi, District

President Syed Jafar Ali Shah, South Punjab President Sheikh Javed Akhtar and General Secretary

Mirza Naeem Baig said criminal elements had become active in busy bazaars due

to increased shopping activity.

They said incidents of theft and snatching had surged, causing distress to both traders and customers, particularly women. “There is virtually no visible security in the markets,” they added, demanding immediate steps to ensure safety.

The newly-elected president, Malik Sami Bhatti, and General Secretary Malik Bilal Thaheem, along with other office-bearers, took oath during the ceremony.

On the occasion, they announced affiliation with the Markazi Tanzeem Tajran Pakistan and expressed full confidence in its Chairman Khawaja Suleman Siddiqui, stating that he had consistently struggled for traders’ rights. They claimed that around 80 percent of trader organisations in Multan supported his leadership.

The traders leaders called for increased police patrolling and establishment of police pickets in major commercial areas, including Gulgasht, Harm Gate, Pak Gate, Chowk Bazaar, Hussain Agahi, New Multan, Shah Rukn-e-Alam Colony, Bohar Gate and Mumtazabad.

They urged the Commissioner Multan, Deputy Commissioner Multan and CPO Multan to take immediate notice, stating that growing insecurity had made business activity difficult and was causing financial losses to citizens.
