Solid efforts afoot for citizens' relief during Ramazan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) The district administration has intensified its efforts to extend relief to citizens during the holy month of Ramazan by ensuring the implementation of official price lists.

In this regard, Assistant Commissioner Paharpur Tehsil Dr Hamid paid surprise visits to various markets to review compliance with official price lists.

According to the administration, during inspection, he sent a butcher until Eid to jail for selling meat at rates higher than those fixed by the government.

During inspections, four shopkeepers were arrested on the spot for overcharging and shifted to the lock-up, while

several others were fined heavily for violating government rates.

The administration, accompanied by a laboratory team, also inspected milk shops. Milk samples were collected from different locations and tested on the spot.

Shopkeepers found selling adulterated milk were caught red-handed, and legal action was initiated against them.

On the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner directed teams stationed at the price control desk to promptly register

public complaints and forward them to the relevant price control magistrates to ensure timely action.
