KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) The Special Investigation Unit and Counter Terrorism Department carried out a joint operation in the Pakistan Bazaar area and arrested an alleged key operative of an interprovincial drug trafficking network.
According to a SIU spokesperson on Thursday, the operation was conducted within the limits of Pakistan Bazaar police station, where the suspect, identified as Muhammad Arman, son of Muhammad Nizam, was taken into custody.
Police said 6.5 kilogrammes of high-quality heroin were recovered from the possession of the accused during the raid.
Investigators alleged that the arrested suspect was associated with an interprovincial narcotics network operated by notorious drug trafficker Hikmat Gul.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to officials, the network was involved in transporting large quantities of narcotics from Balochistan and other provinces to Karachi for supply in different parts of the city.
Police said the suspect was allegedly attempting to distribute heroin brought from Balochistan to various individuals in Karachi at the time of his arrest.
A case has been registered against the accused at the SIU police station, while further investigation is underway.
SSP SIU said authorities were continuing to implement a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics networks operating in the city.
