ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) On the instructions of Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), in collaboration with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), has launched major operation across the country against the manufacture and sale of fake and unregistered medicines.
According to the Ministry of National Health Services on Friday, Regulations and Coordination on Friday, several successful operations were also conducted in Karachi between February and May 2026 against individuals involved in illegal pharmaceutical activities.
The Ministry stated that 10 major joint raids were carried out during the last three months. During the operations, teams targeted networks involved in the production of illegal medicines, fake pharmaceutical factories and centres manufacturing unregistered injections.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Authorities seized a large quantity of unregistered medicines, raw material of controlled drugs including Tramadol, machinery, packaging material and counterfeit brands during the raids. Several suspects were also arrested during the operations, the Ministry added.
Speaking on the occasion, Mustafa Kamal said that the elimination of fake and unregistered medicines was among the government’s top priorities and that no concessions would be given to elements playing with human lives.
The minister said that authorities were tightening the crackdown on those involved in the illegal medicine business across the country. He reiterated that ensuring the uninterrupted supply of safe and quality medicines remained the government’s foremost priority.
