SHOs to be held responsible for crimes in their limits: SSP Qazi

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza chaired a late-night meeting of zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs, assigning multiple tasks to further improve security and crime control in the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Wednesday that the SSP Qazi directed officers to ensure protection of citizens’ lives and property and intensify indiscriminate action against active gangs involved in heinous crimes.

SSP Qazi warned that any incident occurring within the limits of a police station would be the responsibility of the concerned SHO.

SSP directed strict action against land grabbers, illegal arms holders and those involved in display of weapons.

Officers were also instructed to accelerate the “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaign and launch an effective crackdown against drug peddlers.

SSP Qazi Operations ordered immediate action for arrest of active gangs, proclaimed offenders and previously record-holder criminals involved in serious crimes.

He said special focus was laid on operations against gangs involved in motorcycle and vehicle theft.

All patrolling units were directed to remain visible in the field, while SHOs were instructed to make night patrolling more effective and purposeful.

He said zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs were directed to remain available in their offices from 3 pm to 5 pm daily to listen to public complaints and resolve issues under community policing.

SSP Qazi also announced that he would personally review the weekly performance of the Dolphin Squad.

SSP Qazi made it clear that officers showing good performance would be rewarded, while negligence in duty would lead to punishment.

SSP Qazi Ali Raza as saying that officers should perform their duties with dedication and consider public service as an act of worship.
