Security, municipal arrangements reviewed for Zulhaj congregations at Bibi Pak Daman

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan and Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz visited Bibi Pak Daman shrine to review arrangements for the major congregations scheduled on 7th, 8th and 9th Zilhaj.

SSP Operations Lahore Tauqeer Ahmed, officials of the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore and SP Civil Lines also accompanied the visit. District administration and police officers briefed the delegation on security and municipal arrangements.

Officials informed the delegation that security arrangements had been completed and monitoring through cameras was continuing. They added that rescue, medical, security, monitoring, lighting and drainage arrangements had also been finalised.

During the visit, the commissioner inspected entry points and surrounding markets of the shrine and reviewed civic facilities.

She appreciated the performance of sanitation staff, Lahore Electric Supply Company and Water and Sanitation Agency personnel for ensuring smooth arrangements. Shrine organisers and licence holders expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Marryam Khan said the review was conducted on the directions of Maryam Nawaz Sharif to ensure comprehensive arrangements for Zulhaj congregations at the shrine. She said measures had been taken to ensure facilities and security in view of the arrival of thousands of devotees and participants.

The commissioner said the administration remained in constant contact with organisers and directed them to ensure strict adherence to the timings of congregations.
