SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Price control magistrates carried out 45,197 inspections so far during the current month
and imposed fines amounting to Rs 1.114 million during crackdown against overpricing
across the district.
According to the spokesperson for the DC office here on Wednesday, additionally, eight
cases have been registered against profiteers, 122 shops sealed, and 177 persons arrested.
The deputy commissioner stated that no leniency would be shown towards elements
involved in artificial inflation and hoarding.
He emphasized that providing relief to the public remains a top priority of the district
administration, and all available resources are being utilized to achieve this goal.
He further directed price control magistrates to conduct daily market inspections and ensure that essential commodities are sold in accordance with officially notified rates. Strict and indiscriminate legal action, he said, will be taken against violators.
