Religious leaders appreciate arrangements for Muharram in meeting with commissioner

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) A delegation, led by Anjuman-e-Hussainia General Secretary Moeen-ul-Waizeen and Member of the District and Divisional Peace Committee, Ehsanullah Rahat, called on Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia to express appreciation for the administration's arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram.

The delegation thanked the Commissioner for ensuring exemplary arrangements for Muharram processions, including well-managed procession routes, adequate lighting, drinking water stalls (Sabeels), sprinkling of water to mitigate the summer heat, and other essential public facilities.

The delegation informed the Commissioner that the timely and effective measures taken by the district and divisional administrations enabled mourners to observe Muharram with ease and comfort. They noted that all religious gatherings (Majalis) and processions were held peacefully in a secure and well-organized environment. The delegation also commended the administration's efforts in maintaining law and order, promoting inter-departmental coordination, and ensuring the provision of public facilities throughout the observance of Muharram.

Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia thanked the delegation for its appreciation and stated that maintaining peace and public order, providing the best possible facilities to mourners, and promoting inter-sect harmony remained the administration's highest priorities during Muharram-ul-Haram. He said all concerned departments fulfilled their responsibilities efficiently through close coordination and a well-planned strategy, contributing to the peaceful observance of religious events across the division. The delegation included Central President of the United Traders Association and Member of the District and Divisional Peace Committee Hafiz Rao Khurram Saleem, Member of the District and Divisional Peace Committee Dr. Allama Abdul Razzaq Shaiq, Member of the District Peace Committee Syed Naseem Bukhari, Member of the District Peace Committee Makhdoom Ali Naqi Hashmi, and Member of the District Peace Committee Mian Najam-ul-Hasan Bhatti.
