PM pays tribute to Captain Karnal Sher Khan on his 27th martyrdom anniversary

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jul, 2026) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday paid tribute to the hero of the Kargil war Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, (Nishan-i-Haider) on his 27th martyrdom anniversary, praising his great sacrifice and unparalleled courage.

"The extraordinary bravery and eternal sacrifice of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed under highly unfavorable conditions is a bright chapter in Pakistan's military history, which is a living proof of the loyalty and courage," the prime minister said in a statement.

He said that the defense of the homeland was a sacred duty, and the great sacrifices made by the soldiers were the guarantors of country's peace and sovereignty.

He reiterated the firm resolve of the government and the people of Pakistan to stand shoulder to shoulder with their armed forces against any external or internal threat facing the country.

"This great sacrifice of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed reminds us that our freedom and sovereignty are indebted to the blood of our martyrs," Prime Minister Shehbaz added.
