Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has launched a province-wide enforcement campaign against tax evasion and irregularities in sales tax collection on services

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has launched a province-wide enforcement campaign against tax evasion and irregularities in sales tax collection on services.

Enforcement operations were carried out across Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Multan divisions, PRA spokesman confirmed here Wednesday. During the crackdown, the offices of 15 developers were sealed for non-payment of sales tax, while several marquees and marriage halls were also sealed for violating tax laws.

PRA enforcement teams, he added, inspected multiple restaurants and seized sales records after identifying discrepancies between declared sales and tax payments. Notices have also been issued to 25 businesses for violations of tax regulations.

The record seizures were carried out following investigations that revealed inconsistencies between actual sales figures and the taxes deposited with the Authority.

PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra stated that strict action is being taken against irregularities in sales tax collection and manipulation of tax returns. He emphasized that repeated violators are being penalized through fines, sealing of premises and issuance of legal notices in accordance with the law.

“The taxes paid by citizens are a public trust. We are tightening the net around individuals and businesses involved in tax fraud and forgery,” he said.

He reaffirmed PRA’s commitment to ensuring transparency, promoting tax compliance and safeguarding public revenue through effective enforcement measures across the province.
