DPO reviews security arrangements for Ashura procession

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Akhtar Farooq on Friday reviewed security arrangements for the main 10th Muharram procession in Shadiwal ahead of Youm-e-Ashura,here on Friday.

During his visit, the DPO inspected the procession route and reviewed the deployment of police personnel, security checkpoints,entry and exit points and other arrangements aimed at ensuring the peaceful observance of Ashura.

He also assessed traffic management,surveillance and emergency response measures along the route.

According to officials, the DPO directed officers to remain vigilant and discharge their duties with professionalism, emphasizing the need for effective coordination among all law enforcement agencies to maintain security during the procession.

The officials briefed him on the security plan, deployment of personnel and contingency measures.

Expressing satisfaction with the arrangements, the DPO instructed officers to remain on high alert to ensure the safety of mourners and maintain law and order across the district.
