Police solve kidnap-cum-murder case in Sahiwal

BUREWALA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) Police on Sunday claimed to have solved a blind murder case within the jurisdiction of Sahuka police station by arresting a fake faith healer and his son for allegedly kidnapping and killing a man after luring him with the promise of doubling his money.

According to DSP Rana Muhammad Imran,the case surfaced after the kidnapping of Shafqat, brother of the numberdar of village 36/KB was reported to police.

Investigators launched an immediate search operation and found blood traces, a shoe belonging to the victim and drag marks near Khadar Canal.

Following the discovery,police blocked the canal and later recovered the victim’s body during a search operation.

On the directives of DPO Tasawar Iqbal,a special investigation team headed by SHO Sahuka police station Mirza Hasnain was constituted to trace the suspects.

Police said the accused,identified as fake faith healer Imdad Hussain and his son were arrested with the help of human intelligence and modern investigative techniques.

During interrogation,the suspects allegedly confessed to trapping the victim by promising to double his money through spiritual practices.

Police said the accused had also threatened the victim against disclosing the matter to anyone.

Investigators revealed that the suspects took Rs.560,000 from Shafqat on the day of the incident before allegedly murdering him and dumping the body in the canal to hide the crime.

Further investigation was underway.
