GILGIT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Fedeeral Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam on Thursday said under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal, Syed Asim Munir Pakistan is moving towards new heights of progress, stability and national dignity.
He said the PM vision was focused to provide youth with opportunities in modern education, digital technology and research remained among the government’s top priorities. He expressed these views while addressing a dignified ceremony held under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme at the Hunza Campus of Karakoram International University.
The event was attended by the Vice Chancellor, faculty members, university administration, students and a large number of distinguished guests.
Engineer Amir Muqam said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif envisioned a Pakistan where youth were equipped with modern education, research, artificial intelligence, digital skills and innovative thinking to compete. He termed the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme a practical manifestation of this vision, enabling talented and hardworking students to access modern educational resources.

He added that the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan possessed immense potential and the Federal government was taking concrete steps to integrate them into the national development process.
The federal minister also appreciated the efforts of Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan for promoting youth-focused initiatives.
Referring to the recent regional situation, he said Pakistan demonstrated responsible diplomacy, commitment to peace and national unity, projecting itself as a strong and dignified state on the global stage.
The federal minister urged students to use laptops as an effective tool for knowledge, research, innovation and national service, and to contribute towards national development and prosperity. The federal minister also planted a sapling in the campus lawn and participated in the tree plantation campaign.
