MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) carried out a successful raid in Mian Channu, seizing a large quantity of adulterated and unsafe spices and shutting down a production unit involved in their manufacture.
According to a PFA spokesperson, the operation was conducted on a tip-off in Ilahi Bakhsh Colony
where officials raided a spice grinding facility.
During the inspection, approximately 7.
5 maunds of substandard and adulterated spices were recovered and disposed of on the spot.
The food safety team revealed that industrial dyes harmful to human health were being mixed into turmeric powder and red chili to enhance color and appearance. These contaminated spices were intended for supply to local grocery stores and food outlets.
Taking strict action over serious violations of food safety regulations, the authority sealed the production unit and got registered a case against the owner.
