OCU arrests two-member car lifter gang, recovers 12 stolen vehicles in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Rawalpindi Police claimed to have arrested a two-member car lifter gang during a major operation carried out by the Organised Crime Unit (OCU), recovering 12 stolen vehicles from the suspects.

According to a police spokesman, the operation was conducted on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani.

The arrested suspects were allegedly involved in stealing vehicles, tampering with their identification details and selling them in Punjab and other provinces using forged documents.

He said the stolen vehicles were recovered following disclosures made by the accused during interrogation, while efforts were underway to arrest other accomplices and facilitators linked to the gang.

The suspects would be sent to court with substantial evidence after completion of the investigation, the spokesman added.
