New indicators prepared for monitoring schools across Punjab

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) The Punjab government has introduced a revised monitoring system for public schools, setting new performance indicators to evaluate institutions on 11 criteria.

According to education Department sources, the indicators have been shared with all relevant authorities and will be used for future school assessments.

Under the system, academic performance carries the highest weightage with 20 marks. Student enrollment has been allocated five marks, while 10 marks each have been set for student attendance and teachers’ attendance, discipline and dress code.

Cleanliness, record-keeping and school maintenance will carry 15 marks, while co-curricular activities, security, and safety have also been assigned 15 marks.

Additionally, five marks have been allocated for classroom environment, infrastructure, facilities, and the availability of Early Childhood Education (ECE) rooms.

Officials said the new framework aims to improve overall school performance, raise educational standards, and strengthen administrative efficiency.
