NAPA’s piano trio brings melodious compositions to Repertory Festival

The second last day of the NAPA Repertory Festival on Friday had piano performances from three piano protégés of the National Academy of Performing Arts-NAPA

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) The second last day of the NAPA Repertory Festival on Friday had piano performances from three piano protégés of the National academy of Performing Arts-NAPA.

Julian Qaisar, Philip Shahid, and Zeeshan Zafar presented some classical and well-known compositions on piano at the Zia Mohyeddin Theater.

The evening began with Zeeshan Zafar who played various classical pieces including Prelude in C by J S Bach, Cannon in D by Johann Pachelbel, Impromptu Oppus in Gb major by Franz Shubert, and Consolation No 3 in Db major by Franz Lizst.

He also played his own composition in the end called the Fireflies.

Then came Philip Shahid, a NAPA faculty, who played some popular tracks including A Time for Us by Nino Rota (from Romeo and Juliet) and where do I begin by Francis Lai (from love Story). He also played Beethoven’s famous Moonlight Sonata No 14.

Julian Qaisar, another a NAPA faculty member, played various pieces including Green Sleeves, theme from the movie Godfather (composed by Nino Rota), Fur Elise, a Turkish March, and Take Five. He also later presented Raag Bhairvi, an unplugged performance of Mujhe Tum Nazar Se, and a Sufi piece.

A packed house praised the performance of all three pianists.
