Mohsin Naqvi visits Peshawar Police Headquarters

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid an important visit to the Peshawar Police Headquarters on Thursday, where he met with the families of the 15 police personnel martyred in Bannu and received detailed briefings on security and counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the meeting, Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed profound respect for the sacrifices of the martyred officers. He offered condolences to their families, especially the mothers of the fallen heroes, assuring them that the nation stands with them in their grief.

“Your courage and resilience strengthens our resolve even further,” Minister Naqvi said while speaking to the mothers.

“Your brave sons achieved the highest honor of martyrdom by setting an extraordinary example of valor.”

The Interior Minister presided over a special briefing on the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he praised the department’s professional capabilities and successful operations against India-sponsored terrorists.

He emphasized the need for stronger coordination between federal and provincial law-enforcement agencies to enhance security measures across the province.

“CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has carried out highly successful actions against extremist elements,” he noted, assuring full federal support to further strengthen CTD’s capacity.

Later, Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Yadgar-e-Shuhada, laid floral wreaths, and offered fateha in honor of the martyrs.

He also inspected the KP Safe Cities Project, including a detailed visit to the Integrated Command and Control Centre, where he reviewed the modern surveillance system powered by advanced camera technology.

Inspector General of KP Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Chief Secretary, IG FC KP North, IG Federal Constabulary, and senior officials were present during the visit. Senior CTD officials briefed the Minister on efforts to modernize the department in line with contemporary policing standards.
