Mirpurkhas administration finalises arrangements for anti-polio campaign

MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Nawab Sameer Laghari has directed officials to ensure effective implementation of the anti-polio campaign scheduled from May 18 to May 21 so that no child under the age of five is left without vaccination.

The instructions were issued during a meeting held at the District Health Office in Mirpurkhas on Thursday to review preparations for the campaign. The deputy commissioner directed District Health Officer Dr. Sandeep Kumar to closely monitor field activities, improve the performance of polio teams and ensure administration of polio drops to schoolchildren as well.

During the briefing, Polio Programme Focal Person Dr. Narain Das informed participants that all arrangements for the drive had been completed. He said 1,155 mobile teams, 44 transit points, 76 fixed centres, 262 area in-charges, 41 Union Council Medical Officers and 20 TUSP teams had been deployed for the campaign.

Officials said the teams would administer polio drops to more than 360,000 children across the district during the four-day campaign. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Commissioner Sindhri Afraz Saeed, Assistant Commissioner Mirpurkhas Ghulam Hussain Kanhio and other concerned officers.
