Measures underway to make city’s parks a real recreational place

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) In line with the instructions of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the divisional administration is taking several measures to make the city’s parks a real recreational place.

Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar while chairing a meeting held to review ‘Adopt the Park Program’ here on Friday said that in the first phase, 100 public parks are being adopted and implementation on the project has been initiated.

The meeting gave a green signal for the beautification and renovation of Shahbaz Sharif Park, Susan Road Green Belt and Linear Park Jaranwala Road. The facilities like walking tracks, horticultural works, swings, food courts, and boundary walls will be ensured in these parks.

The Commissioner presiding over another meeting said that the divisional administration is active in ensuring law and order across the division and directed the Additional Commissioner (Revenue) to establish a cell and all the pending cases in the revenue department should be redressed.

He appointed the Director Development as the focal person for organizing Jashn-e-Baharan and also took a briefing on the checking campaign of boilers and pressure vessels in industrial units.

In addition, it was also decided to hold meetings of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) and Suthra Punjab Program and asked the Additional Commissioner Coordination to expedite steps to launch “Hello Faisalabad”.

He assigned the task of preparing a parks management plan and establishing a women’s bazaar to the DG Parks and Horticulture Agency. The Commissioner also took a briefing on the progress made so far on industry relocation.

He issued instructions to the officers for the master planning of parking zones, upgradation of circuit houses and completion of other targets.

The Commissioner also reviewed cases of violations of commercial and residential building bylaws.
