Market visited to keep check on prices

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) Assistant commissioners and price magistrates visited various markets on Saturday to ensure implementation of official price lists.

According to the district administration, a trend of reduction and stabilization has been observed in the prices of many vegetables and fruits compared to the previous day. Prices have improved due to abundant supply of food items in the city's markets. The administration ensured the arrival of 165 trucks of potatoes, onions and tomatoes in the city markets, which resulted in price stabilization.

Similarly, after a reduction of Rs 10 per kg in the price of local garlic, the new price has become Rs 190 per kg, while melon is being sold at Rs 150 per kg, cheaper by Rs 25.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Ijaz has directed that strict legal action be taken against those charging prices above the fixed rates, the availability and supply of essential commodities should be ensured at all costs and all administrative measures should be taken to stabilize prices.
