KP govt accelerates development agenda

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) Under the visionary leadership of Muhammad Sohail Afridi, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government has initiated wide-ranging reforms and development measures during the first 100 days of his tenure, aimed at promoting self-reliance, transparent governance, and a welfare-oriented state.

During this period, the Chief Minister has steered the province toward a new era of institutional reform and people-centered development through a series of strategic decisions and policy initiatives. Key focus areas include infrastructure development and improved connectivity, with special emphasis on urban renewal under the Peshawar the Peshawar Revitalization Plan.

Provincial spokesperson Shafi Jan in a statement said that the government has also prioritized the development of public spaces to enhance community wellbeing, alongside initiatives in housing and social development to improve living standards for citizens.

Reforms in agriculture and digital governance have been launched to boost productivity, modernize service delivery, and strengthen economic resilience.

Significant attention has been given to disaster management and environmental sustainability, reflecting the government’s commitment to climate resilience and long-term ecological balance.

Progress in the energy sector has also been made to support economic growth and ensure reliable services for the public.

He said that initiatives demonstrate a clear commitment by the Chief Minister to place Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on a path of sustainable growth, improved governance, and inclusive development, laying a strong foundation for long-term prosperity across the province.
