The South Karachi Sessions Court issued the directive after police raised concerns over law and order risks, stating that the accused’s production in court could create a potentially dangerous situation

KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-May 18th, 2026) A court in Karachi has ordered that all remand proceedings in the case of alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky be conducted inside the Central Jail Complex, citing serious security concerns regarding her appearance at the City Court.

The South Karachi Sessions Court issued the directive after police raised concerns over law and order risks, stating that the accused’s production in court could create a potentially dangerous situation.

According to the court order, the judicial magistrate has been directed to visit the Central Jail Complex to conduct remand proceedings instead of holding hearings at the City Court. The court also allowed the accused to be produced at the jail for legal proceedings.

The case, registered as FIR No. 147/2026 at Baghdadi Police Station, has been booked under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

During the hearing, police submitted a special request highlighting security threats and argued that shifting proceedings to the jail was necessary to ensure public safety. The court observed that there was a credible risk to public order if the proceedings were held at the City Court.

Sessions Judge Zahoor Ahmed Hakro issued the detailed order, instructing all concerned magistrates and the investigating officer to ensure immediate compliance.

Meanwhile, Darakhshan police have also filed a revision petition challenging the judicial remand order.
