Joint flag march held to reinforce Muharram security across Faisalabad

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) Civil administration, police and Pakistan Army conducted a joint flag march across major

areas of the city to demonstrate preparedness and strengthen security arrangements for

the remaining days of Muharram-ul-Haram while assuring citizens of a peaceful and secure

environment during the holy month.

Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail

Akhtar Sukhaira, Brigadier Yaseen of Pakistan Army, Deputy Commissioner Capt (R) Nadeem

Nasir, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain, Colonel Adil of Pakistan Army and

officers of Rangers led the flag march.

A large contingent comprising personnel and vehicles of Pakistan Army, Police, Elite Force

and Rescue 1122 participated in the exercise, reflecting close coordination among security

and emergency response agencies for maintaining law & order during Muharram-ul-Haram.

The flag march commenced from Police Lines and passed through major city arteries and

sensitive locations including Jail Road, Narwala Road, Jinnah Colony, Central Imambargah,

Rajbah Road, outside Jhang Bazaar, Karkhana Bazaar, Gumti Chowk, Jhal Khannuana

Overhead Bridge, Satiana Road, Gaitanwala Chowk and Pahari Ground before concluding

back at Police Lines.

Senior officials reviewed security preparedness along the route and expressed satisfaction

over the arrangements made to ensure peaceful observance of mourning processions and

religious gatherings.

Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen said the Primary

objective of flag march was to instill a sense of security and confidence among citizens and

demonstrate the readiness of law enforcement and security agencies to maintain peace during

the holy month.

She said that comprehensive security measures had been put in place for Muharram-ul-Haram

and all relevant departments were working in close coordination to prevent any untoward incident.

She said that security arrangements for the remaining days of Muharram had been finalized

and would continue to be implemented with vigilance and professionalism.

She emphasized that the divisional administration, police, Pakistan Army, Rangers and

rescue services remained fully committed to safeguarding lives, property and religious harmony.

She urged the citizens to cooperate with security agencies and immediately report any suspicious

activity to help maintain a peaceful environment.
