IUB secures prestigious X category in HEC ORIC scorecard

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has secured the prestigious X category in the Higher education Commission’s ORIC Annual Scorecard 2024-25, successfully sustaining the high ranking it achieved during its first-ever evaluation in 2023-24.

According to an official press release, issued by the university, the IUB demonstrated remarkable progress in research, innovation and commercialisation through its Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC) within a short period of time.

The university secured the first position among General Category Public Sector Universities in South Punjab, fourth position among General Category Public Sector Universities in Punjab, and tenth position among all public sector universities in the province.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran congratulated the faculty members and the ORIC team on the achievement, describing it as a reflection of the collective efforts of researchers, teachers and administrative staff.

He said the recognition highlighted the university’s growing contribution to research excellence, innovation and academic development.
