Interviews begin for key posts at Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Institute

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Interviews for key administrative and medical positions at the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology have commenced, officials said on Friday.

The recruitment drive includes appointments for Director, Medical Director, Finance Director and Nursing Director. The interviews are being conducted by a high-level panel headed by Adviser to the Punjab Chief Minister on Health, Major General (retd) Dr Azhar Mahmood Kiani.Other members of the panel include Dr Shujaat Ali, Colonel (retd) Iftikhar-ul-Hassan and Dr Waris Farooq.

Commissioner Sargodha Hafiz Shaukat Ali visited the institute to review the ongoing recruitment process. During the visit, he meet members of the interview panel and was briefed on administrative arrangements.

The commissioner reviewed security measures, facilities provided to candidates and overall management of the process.

He directed officials to ensure transparency and merit in recruitment so that the most qualified candidates are selected.

Officials informed him that the hiring process for all positions would be completed by June 30. They added that installation of modern medical equipment at the hospital is also expected to be finalised within the same timeframe.

The commissioner also inspected various departments and reviewed preparations at the facility.

Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Shaukat Ali said the state-of-the-art cardiology institute, constructed in record time, would soon become operational. He said the facility would provide quality cardiac care to residents of Sargodha and adjoining districts,reducing the need for patients to travel to major cities.

He termed the project a significant step forward in improving healthcare services in the region.
