Illegal structures removed in Dera as administration clears drainage channels

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) The district administration, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Dera Syed Muhammad Arslan, carried out an anti-encroachment operation inside Kinnere Wala Gate on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan.

Official sources told on Thursday that the operation was conducted with the participation of police, Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) and revenue staff. Prior to the action, the site had been formally demarcated several months earlier, and occupants were issued seven-day notices to vacate the encroached land.

Upon non-compliance, the administration proceeded with action in accordance with the law.

During the operation, three shops, one room, two garages/stores, one washroom, and three partially constructed structures were removed.

Officials said that the structures had been illegally established partly on provincial government land and partly over two open drainage channels. These encroachments were not only unlawful but were also obstructing the drainage system, causing civic issues in the area.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against illegal encroachments to ensure the smooth functioning of public infrastructure and urban management.
