IHC removes objections on PTI founder, Bushra Bibi's appeals in Toshakhana-II case

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday removed the objections to the appeals against the conviction of the founder PTI and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana II case and directed the Registrar's Office to issue diary number of cases

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday removed the objections to the appeals against the conviction of the founder PTI and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana II case and directed the Registrar's Office to issue diary number of cases.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the case along with the objections of the registrar office. During the hearing, Barrister Salman Safdar and Salman Akram Raja, along with lawyers and the founder's three sisters, also appeared.

Barrister Salman Safdar said that the Registrar's Office had raised objections to our appeal. We were not aware of those objections. When we filed the suspension of sentence applications, we found out that there were objections. Such objections were raised on the appeals that were not made at all.

He said that the Registrar's Office raised an objection that the power of attorney was old, but now it has itself canceled it and accepted it. The office raised an objection that the flags were not affixed, the order was not correct.

Justice Khadim Soomro said that the remaining objections to your appeals are being removed.

Barrister Salman Safdar said that there is one objection that the flags are not affixed on the pages. What is this objection?

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro smiled and said, "The lawyer should flag the pages. When the objections have been removed, why is the case scheduled with objections?" We are giving you seven days to remove the objections.

Barrister Salman Safdar said, "We have a lot of problems for us, let it be easy. The Registrar's Office itself is creating confusion. You have appeared in court for the first time.

Justice Khadim Soomro said both of your applications are approved." The court approved two separate applications of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.

The separate application of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi to remove objections on the main appeal and to extend the time to remove objections on the appeals was also approved.
