ICT Police detain 19 suspects in fresh combing, search operations across Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jun, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police detained 19 suspects and shifted 26 motorcycles for further verification during large-scale combing and search operations conducted in various parts of the Federal capital as part of enhanced security measures.

An official told APP on Monday that the operations were launched on the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and carried out under the supervision of zonal SPs in the jurisdictions of Sumbal, Kirpa, Aabpara, Shahzad Town, Sabzi Mandi and Khanna police stations.

The official said the lady police personnel also participated in the operations to ensure comprehensive checking.

During the search operations, police checked 507 individuals, 254 households, 20 hotels, and 70 shops, besides inspecting 239 motorcycles and 124 vehicles, the official said.

According to the official, 19 suspicious persons and 26 motorcycles were shifted to the respective police stations for further verification and legal action, where required.

The official said special checking points had been established at the entry and exit points of the city, while all patrolling units and special squads remained active across Islamabad to strengthen security.

Citizens were urged to cooperate with police during checks and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
