Housing Secretary promises action on stalled Green Enclave-1 Scheme

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) A delegation of the allottees of Green Enclave-1 headed by Ch. Amjad Ali, met Federal Secretary for Housing and Works Captain (R) Muhammad Mahmood Rai in the Committee Room on Thursday to raise concerns over the long-delayed housing project and seek immediate action for its development.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the persistent delays, lack of visible development work, and growing frustration among allottees who have been waiting for 17 years for progress on the project. Responding to the grievances, the Federal Secretary briefed the delegates in detail about the status of Green Enclave-1 and assured them that the project was included among his top priorities and assigned responsibilities.

Captain (R) Muhammad Mahmood Rai informed the delegation that the Authority was actively working to overcome the obstacles that had slowed down the project. Following the meeting with the Secretary, the delegation also met project contractor Dr.

Hafeez Abbasi and urged him to help resolve pending issues with FGEHA so that development work could move forward without further delay. The delegation emphasized the need for better coordination between the contractor and the Authority in order to remove hurdles affecting the project.

Later, during a private meeting, the members of the delegation reviewed the situation and agreed on a future course of action. The participants unanimously decided that all members of Green Enclave-1 should clear any pending dues so that the authorities could not cite outstanding payments as a reason for delaying the project.

The delegation also resolved to continue its collective struggle and maintain pressure on the concerned authorities through all available legal, administrative, and public channels. Members reiterated their commitment to pursuing the matter until practical development work begins and the long-awaited project is finally completed.
