Heatwave hits Bahawalpur region

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Heatwave has hit Bahawalpur region which has been significantly more intense and prolonged than in previous years.

Prevailing month of June 2026 has seen persistently higher temperatures in Bahawalpur region as many days, the mercury has reached 45°C to 47°C, while the "feels like" temperature due to humidity and atmospheric conditions has exceeded 48°C on some occasions.

According to the Local Met Office, the Primary reasons behind this trend are global climate change and the hot, dry conditions caused by below-average rainfall in the region.
