QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Balochistan newly enrolled more than 717,000 out of school children in public schools across the province over the last two years.
In line with the Prime Minister’s declaration of a nationwide “Education Emergency” aimed at enrolling 26.2 million out-of-school children, Balochistan has emerged as the first province to take decisive action.
According to Munir Ahmed Nodazai, CEO BAEC and Focal Person, Enrollment Campaign Balochistan, on September 12, 2024, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti launched the “Zero Out-of-School Children” campaign, setting an ambitious target to bring every child into the education system. Under his leadership, and with the dedicated efforts of Provincial Minister for Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani and the Secretary School Education, the province has achieved remarkable progress within just 20 months, he said.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to the latest Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement (PSLM) data, the out-of-school children rate in Balochistan has dropped from 59 percent to 45 percent, marking a significant reduction of 14 percentage points.
Munir Ahmed said that this achievement underscores Balochistan’s commitment to transforming its education landscape, ensuring that children previously deprived of schooling are now part of the formal education system.
The campaign reflects the provincial government’s resolve to align with the national vision of universal education and to secure a brighter future for the youth, he added.
