Strict security ensures peaceful 9th Muharram Zuljinah procession in Quetta

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) The 9th Muharram Shabeeh Zuljinah procession was taken out in Quetta under strict security arrangements. The procession, led by President Balochistan Shia Conference, Nazim-e-Aala Ashiq Hussain, commenced from Imambargah Nasir-ul-Aza on Meccongi Road and concluded after passing through designated routes.

Earlier, a Majlis-e-Aza was held at the Imambargah before the start of the procession. The Zuljinah procession moved through Usman Road before returning to the Imambargah Nasir-ul-Aza, where it ended peacefully.

Authorities had implemented stringent security measures: all entry points leading to the procession route were sealed, while shops and business centers along the route remained closed. Personnel from Police and Frontier Corps (FC) were deployed to perform security duties.

As part of precautionary measures, mobile phone services were suspended across Quetta city during the 9th Muharram to prevent any untoward incident.
