The ship, carrying consignments bound for Abu Dhabi and Kuwait, anchored at Gwadar to unload its cargo a development seen as a clear reflection of the port’s rising commercial, maritime, and strategic importance.

Officials in a statement issued on Monday, described the event as a success of Pakistan’s maritime and trade policies and a demonstration of growing global confidence in Gwadar Port.

They noted that the increase in international transshipment activities would not only strengthen Pakistan’s maritime economy but also open new avenues for regional trade and transit commerce.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry welcomed the progress, adding that the government was taking practical steps to transform Gwadar into a modern, efficient and dynamic transshipment and trade hub. He emphasized that the steady rise in global shipping activity at Gwadar is a positive sign for the national economy, investment, job creation, and regional connectivity.

“Gwadar Port is becoming an attractive and reliable center for international shipping companies, aligned with global standards and equipped with modern facilities,” he said.

Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch echoed these sentiments, noting that the arrival of transshipment cargo reflected the growing trust of the international trading community. He attributed this interest to recent incentive policies, reduced port charges, and business-friendly measures. He added that special focus is being placed on modernizing port operations, accelerating cargo handling, and strengthening links with regional trade corridors to position Gwadar as a key economic artery in the region.

Looking ahead, Chairman Baloch said Gwadar Port is poised to emerge as an effective gateway for trade, investment, and maritime connectivity between Pakistan, Central Asia, Gulf countries, and global markets. He stressed that the port would play a pivotal role in stabilizing the national economy and fostering regional prosperity.
