Governor Sindh, Abbasi discuss development projects, regional situation

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Governor Sindh Nihal Hashmi Wednesday called on Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and discussed matters of mutual interest, the national and regional situation and ongoing development projects.

During the meeting, the two leaders also exchanged views on Pakistan’s recent diplomatic role, particularly its efforts regarding Iran-US negotiations, said a news release.

They appreciated the roles of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Asim Munir in the successful holding of the talks in Islamabad.

Both sides agreed that Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives were highly significant for the promotion of peace and stability in the region.

The meeting also focused on various Pakistan Railways development schemes, including the ML-1 project in Sindh.

They agreed to accelerate the pace of work on railway infrastructure improvement and new development initiatives.

It was also decided that the Governor Sindh and the Railways Minister would jointly attend the inauguration ceremony of an international-standard educational institution in Karachi on April 20.

Hanif Abbasi will inaugurate the country’s first IB World school.

They termed the promotion of education and provision of world-class educational facilities among the government’s top priorities.
