Governor directs to address shortage of teaching staff, issues facing by Degree College Sariab

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Monday directed that measures would be taken to address shortage of teaching staff and other issues facing by Government Boys Postgraduate Degree College Sairab Road Quetta.

He expressed these views while addressing the participants of the first convocation of the Government Boys Postgraduate Degree College Sariab.

Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Kulsoom Niaz, Secretary Education Saleh Baloch, Dr. Zahoor Bazai, Vice Chancellor University of Balochistan, Principal Government Boys Postgraduate Degree College Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Pirkani and Principals of Boys and Girls Colleges of Quetta along with a large number of college teachers and graduates were present on the occasion.

The Governor said that we are committed to equipping this historic institution with modern facilities, our vision is to bring the college in line with the current educational and industrial standards and introduce skill-based training as per the requirements.

He added that after 84 years of the establishment of the said college, we are celebrating the first convocation of this prestigious educational institution.

“I am proud to stand with you as the Governor of Balochistan on this historic milestone and share your joy”, he said and added that Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel congratulated all the graduating graduates and especially their parents.

He said that the first Principal of Postgraduate Boys Degree College Sariab, Prof. Muhammad Khan, laid the foundation with a vision of educational excellence, he took the educational caravan forward and today, with the dynamic leadership of our current Principal Prof.

Abdul Razzaq Pirkani, he is taking it forward.

Jaffar Khan Mandukhel said that our respected teachers remind us that our institutions are not just about education but also about building high character and moral strength, during the last eight decades, thousands of young scholars have passed through the doors of the Postgraduate Boys Degree College, its halls and classrooms.

He mentioned that later, they served their areas, their province and their country, this college is one of the oldest educational institutions of our province, it is the pride of our past, the identity of our present and guides us towards a bright future.

Governor Mandokhel said that we assure you that we would once again put this historic college on the path of educational and technical development.

I am fully confident that the entire faculty of the Postgraduate Boys Degree College is committed to making it stronger than before and is also ready to secure the bright future of our youth.

Congratulating the organizers for organizing a successful convocation, the Governor Balochistan said that Principal Professor Abdul Razzaq and his entire team deserve tribute and hope that you would continue to work with the same passion and enthusiasm in the future.

Earlier, Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel presented gold medals to the position holders among the graduates of the said college and distributed shields among the guests and organizers.
