Google is preparing to launch a new API soon.

Google has introduced a new privacy feature in its Chrome browser for Android users to improve online safety. With this update, users will no longer need to share their exact location with websites.

Instead, they will be able to provide an “approximate location,” which only shows a general area rather than the exact home, street, or building.

Previously, Chrome often asked for precise location access, which raised privacy concerns because it could reveal very detailed personal information. Now, most websites will only receive an estimated location, which is usually enough for services to work properly.

However, users can still allow full precise location access if needed. For example, apps like navigation or ride-hailing services may require exact location to function correctly.

Google is also working on a new system for developers that will clearly show whether a website needs approximate or precise location data. Experts say this is an important step for online privacy, as it gives users more control over their personal information while using the internet.
