ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) The district administration intensified its crackdown against overpricing, illegal transport and public disorder in Qalandarabad, sealing shops, making arrests and impounding vehicles during a comprehensive operation on Thursday.
The action was carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram, under the supervision of Additional Assistant Commissioner Kamran Ali Shah, who conducted a detailed inspection of local markets.
During the operation, five shops were sealed for overcharging customers on essential commodities, while five violators were arrested and sent to jail. Officials said the administration would not tolerate any violations of officially notified price lists.
The administration also cleared Sajikot Road and other key roads of encroachments and obstacles to restore smooth traffic flow and facilitate commuters.
Meanwhile, two individuals involved in hooliganism and creating unrest were arrested and handed over to Mangal Police Station to maintain law and order in the area.
In addition, two phosphate-loaded jeeps were seized after they were found operating with fake or tampered leasing slip dates. The vehicles and their drivers were handed over to the police, while the Assistant Director Mines was directed to initiate FIRs against those involved.
Officials reiterated that the district administration, under the supervision of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, would continue indiscriminate action to protect public interest, enforce price control measures, and ensure law and order without succumbing to any pressure.
