DIG East Zone reviews security arrangements of the main Ashura procession

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of district East Dr. Farrukh Ali reviewed the security arrangements of the main Ashura procession of 10th Muharram-ul-haram at Naumaish Chowrangi here on Friday.

The East Zone Police have implemented watertight security measures for the central procession, said Media Cell, DIG East Zone.

The main Ashura procession, taken out from Nishter Park is proceeding towards its destination Hussainiya Iraniya Imam Bargah Kharadar, under tight security.

The Bomb Disposal Squad has swept the route of the main Ashura procession. Police personnel have been deployed around the main procession and atop high-rise buildings situated on the route of procession.

The DIG East Zone, along with procession organizers and senior police officers, accompanied the main procession along its designated route.
