DC establishes PERA Performance Media Cell to enhance public awareness

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza has issued a notification about establishment of the PERA Performance Media Cell in the district to enhance the visibility of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority, strengthen public awareness campaigns, and ensure timely dissemination of information regarding the authority's enforcement activities and achievements.

According to the notification, the district-level media cell has been created to effectively highlight PERA's performance, communicate accurate and timely information to the public, publicise enforcement operations, promote awareness campaigns, and further strengthen the institution's positive public image.

Under the notification, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Bahawalpur has been appointed as the Chairman of the Media Cell. The Deputy Director Public Relations, Bahawalpur, and the District sports Officer, Bahawalpur, will serve as members.

The PERA System Support Officer, Bahawalpur, has been designated as the Secretary of the Media Cell, while the concerned Tehsil PERA System Support Officer will serve as a member for the respective tehsil. The notification states that the Media Cell will be responsible for planning, documenting, and publicizing PERA's performance, successful enforcement operations, public interest initiatives, promotional activities, and awareness campaigns. The objective is to keep citizens informed about the authority's services and initiatives through timely, accurate, and effective communication.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza said that the establishment of the PERA Performance Media Cell would help present the authority's performance more effectively to the public, strengthen communication between the institution and citizens, and promote greater public awareness regarding compliance with laws and regulations.
